Thever suffered from an incurable disease. The deaths shocked relatives and friends who never thought Thever had been stressed.
can you elaborate on "rapidly westernizing without the support structures available in the west"
I, personally, think this is to do with Indians' inability to tolerate failures in their lives on a large scale owing too much pride and social customs.
